CDV Releases New Blitzkrieg 2: Fall of the Reich Gameplay Trailer

Today CDV Software Entertainment USA released a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming WWII real-time strategy title - Blitzkrieg 2: Fall of the Reich. In the new trailer, bombers lay waste to enemy tank columns, artillery decimates dug-in enemies and waves of tanks push back German forces. Blitzkrieg 2: Fall of the Reich is set for release on February 22, and aims to bring back the classic strategic gameplay of the original Blitzkrieg, where skill and strategy take precedence over "tank rush" style gameplay. The new screens include a variety of scenes, from tanks rolling into battle to bombers delivering their deadly payloads upon unsuspecting targets. Blitzkrieg 2: Fall of the Reich features multiple enhancements including updated gameplay that allows for more strategic play, new units and new missions. Fall of the Reich will ship in North America on January 15.

New Screens for Blitzkrieg 2: Fall of the Reich

Today we are pleased to release six new screens for CDV's upcoming Blitzkrieg 2 expansion - Fall of the Reich. These screens display a variety of air and ground units traversing the European landscapes from the game.

Blitzkrieg 2: Fall of the Reich covers three major offensives from the final days of fighting on the Eastern front. With Germany holding strategic cities in a bid to protect the Fatherland, and the Red Army relentlessly driving towards Berlin, the Spring of '45 saw some of the most vicious battles of the entire war.
Fall of the Reich features two campaigns (one German, one Soviet) that focus on offensives in the long Siege of Budapest, the incredible tenacity of Axis forces in holding "Fortress" Kurland and the Soviet Operation Bagration that freed Byelorussia and opened up the Eastern Europe to the Red Army. Eight new historically based missions, several new units and ten new maps (six single-player and four multiplayer) will keep players engrossed in some of the heaviest fighting of the last days of WWII.

Fall of the Reich, the first stand-alone expansion for the recently released Blitzkrieg 2 historical RTS, is scheduled to ship to North American retailers in late September 2006.
Blitzkrieg 2: Fall of the Reich spans three major offensives from the final days of fighting on the Eastern front and covers both the Soviet and German campaigns in the long "Siege of Budapest,” "Fortress Kurland," and the Soviet "Operation Bagration." Sixteen historically based missions across 10 new maps will challenge beginning and veteran strategists as they try to either capture or defend the remnants of the German war machine during the final days of World War II in Europe.
